Mother’s Kitchen Canberra

Mother’s Kitchen in Canberra was started in March 2016 in cooperation with Red Cross Roadhouse.

It is a community service, run and supported by enthusiastic volunteers. It currently serves home cooked vegetarian meals to around 30-40 homeless and disadvantaged people each month.

Mother’s Kitchen Canberra

Where: Red Cross Road House, Griffin Centre, 20 Genge St, Canberra ACT 2601 (google map)
When: 1st Sunday of each month

How it is run?

All food is prepared and cooked at home and brought to the venue immediately. We change the menu every time depending upon the season. There are usually about 5 volunteers who cook at home and 4-5 volunteers who serve and clean at the venue.

How do I volunteer?

To offer your help with serving and/or cooking, please email canberra@ammaaustralia.org.au or call 0412-023-409. You will need to be registered as a Red Cross volunteer first.

How else can I help?

If you would like to support this worthwhile service but cannot volunteer in a physical sense, then tax deductible donations to Amrita Australia Limited can be made online. Funds are used to cover the cost of ingredients and incidental expenses in running the program.
