Announcing the Australian Ashram Project 2006

We are thrilled to announce that we have found a property in Victoria to create a spiritual centre for Amma in Australia.

A place that we can dedicate as an offering of our love and from where Amma’s love and message can spread to benefit the larger community in Australia.

The ashram will provide a sense of permanence and constant presence of Amma.  It will become the nucleus of a community of spiritual aspirants and selfless dedicated workers who can carry on Amma’s divine work and vision.

It will be a place for people to go to who are seeking guidance in their spiritual journey. A haven of solace, comfort and healing for those suffering the torments of life and a retreat for those who want to withdraw from day to day life and contemplate and reflect on the Supreme Truth.

During the 2006 tour Amma provided specific guidance on acquiring a suitable property. After inspecting several properties in accordance with these guidelines, a few were short listed and presented to Amma last month and she advised us to start negotiations on a property in Carrum Downs to the south east of Melbourne.

On Guru Purnima day (11th July 2006), the agent informed us that the vendor has accepted our offer and we have exchanged contracts with a settlement in December 2006.

The property is located at 842 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Carrum Downs, Vic 3201. It has 3 bed rooms, a study, kitchen, 3 large halls and large garage on 5 acres of land. View Photos >>

The existing facilities are adequate to begin operating as an ashram immediately and the five acres offers us ample space to develop and expand in the future. The zoning is also very favorable to our purposes.

The ashram project is a great opportunity for those of us who have experienced even a little of Amma's Love and Compassion to spread it in the world.

Please help however you can.  The dream of an Ashram is now about to come a reality and its fulfillment can be achieved only through the generosity of Amma’s Australian Children.

Public Transport to the Ashram
For people who rely on public transport, there is a bus which runs along the Dandenong-Frankston Rd between Frankston and Dandenong.  Alternatively if you make prior arrangements with the Ashram by ringing 03 9782 9927 you could be picked up from Carrum station.
