Byron Bay Satsang Group Cake-Stall

Byron Bay - Cake StallHow far does $5.00 go here in Australia? A cup of coffee, maybe a loaf of bread - it could barely afford the ingredients for one nutritious meal. Five dollars doesn’t buy a lot here in the West but in India, it can feed an impoverished woman and her family for a whole month.

The Byron Bay Satsang group has been raising funds for the Amrita Nidhi pension scheme, a monthly pension program for widows and destitute women provided by the MA Math, born out of Amma’s compassion.

Cardigans for the Amma dolls
Amma Doll Cardigans
Three Generations of Le Billon (Ogilvie) women have been helping to fundraise for Amma’s Charities by knitting cardigans for Amma Dolls to be sold around the world on Amma’s tours.

The project started when Michele Ogilvie from Byron Bay (who loves to knit!) decided she wanted to knit a cardigan for Amma when she visited Australia in 2006. After experiencing giving the cardigan to Amma, Michele had the idea of creating patterns to knit cardigans for the Amma dolls. Read more >
